  • U14 Netball Tournament

    Tue 23 May 2023

The Year 8's recently spent the day at Keele University competing in the regional Netball tournament. There were 7 teams involved and the students played 6 x 20-minute games and with a full team and 3 subs it was very physically demanding but our students did great.

They came up against some players that compete for the county and that did not phase them. There were many goals scored and players really stepped up, a special mention to Nnenna who often won players player (nominated by the other team every game) and Sophie, without a doubt played the best she has ever played.

Overall, the students who represented The King's were amazing, and their sportsmanship was top notch. The winners of the tournament were fantastic, but when we played them by half time it was 2-2, the second half seen them score a few more goals then us, but our students walked away very impressed with themselves and stated that next year, with everyone committing to training they have a chance at placing, and maybe even winning.

  • Mental Health Support Team

    Thu 18 May 2023

It is wonderful to see our Sixth Form at The King’s students 'embracing' learning experiences to last a lifetime.' We wanted to share with you the programme that Ms Williams has been running with some of our Sixth Form students and the Mental Health Support Team.

This was a pilot scheme set up by the Mental Health Support Team and our school was chosen to run the first course of this kind. The course has ran every Monday for the last 10 weeks and we will be rolling this out again to the new starters in our Sixth Form from September 2023.

On that note, we are super proud to share that:

Saher and Kadie have successfully completed the course and were awarded with a voucher and certificate for their efforts.

They have been a real credit to our school and represented the Sixth Form to a very high standard.

The two Sixth Form students will be taking an active role in becoming mental health ambassadors for our school community.
