Our Local Charity

St Thomas’ Church Foodbank

The King’s Church of England Academy support the local foodbank at St Thomas’ Church. The students collect for the foodbank at Harvest and Christmas and at other times in the year.

The foodbank is home to one of six centres for the Newcastle-Staffs Foodbank, which has been operating since 2012. As part of the Trussell Trust foodbank network, we aim to feed those in need in the borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme in North Staffordshire. As well as Kidsgrove, there are Foodbank centres in Chesterton, Clayton, Madeley, Newcastle town centre and Silverdale.

The Kidsgrove foodbank centre is open from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Friday afternoons in the Church Hall. If you or someone you know need help from the Foodbank, then please call the Foodbank on 07519 159061. Alternatively, please call in when we’re open and we can point you in the right direction.

If you would like to know more about how the Foodbank works, and how you can get involved, click here to visit the Newcastle-Staffs Foodbank website.
