Head boy and Head girl

The Role of Head Boy/Head Girl

The role of Head Boy and Head Girl at The King's is multi-faceted.

First and foremost, they must be a positive role model for the rest of the year, and the whole school, and therefore must be students who are happy to accept and abide by the school’s code on conduct, appearance and attitude.

They will represent the school on formal occasions and often need to address school and other individuals at such events as awards evenings etc.  Consequently, they need to be confident and articulate and able to put together a short speech for various events.  There are a number of different events throughout the year, some high profile, and Head Boy/Head Girl will be expected to attend these.

Roles and responsibilities of our Heads of school

Meet our Head Boy and Head Girl

"I'm invested in The King's because The King's is invested in me."

Ebony Birks Year 13

Having attended this school for 8 years, The King’s has played a big part in my life and has made me the person I am today, which has allowed me to become a role model for the younger years.

Attending The King’s opens so many doors for students, both in and outside of school. Every student is given the chance to progress where we have the best teachers who are always willing and able to support and develop us to our full potential. The King’s also offers many extra-curricular activities which are an effective way for students to make friends and to simply enjoy themselves and have fun. We have excellent sports facilities, so if you are interested in taking up a new sport or being part of a team, The King’s is the school for you.

There are many life experiences that can be gained while attending The King’s and the sixth form team work hard to ensure we have as many enrichment opportunities as possible. Already, we have been signed up to  take part in a two week programme hosted by The National Service as well as a number of additional courses which really complements the subjects I am studying.

All the experiences I have had during my time at The King's have given me the confidence to apply for Head Girl and I am extremely proud to act as an ambassador for the school.

"Excellent teaching and learning at The King's means we get the best results!"

Alec Henderson- Year 13

The King’s is without a doubt, the place to be if you are striving for excellence. Our Sixth Form builds on the personal development you have gained lower down the school and gives you freedom to tailor your academic and wider experience to suit your own needs.

Across the school, there is a strong focus on allowing students to govern their own learning which will subsequently enable them to flourish into well-rounded individuals who have the independence and confidence to deal with anything thrown at them.

As you progress through the Sixth Form, many students gain a natural passion for their subject, nurtured by teachers who always look to enhance your learning and develop your career choices. Through the varied co-curricular activities on offer, The King’s Sixth Form encourages you to branch your interests into various clubs and extra-curricular initiatives that will prepare you for later life – First Aid course, university visits and work experience.

Overall, The King’s is a truly special place with an environment that will prepare you for all endeavours that you may encounter, whilst having a bit of fun along the way too.
