Discovering Life in all its Fullness

Meet the team

Sixth Form Manager - Mrs Finnemore

At The King’s Sixth Form, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.  Learning takes place within a supportive, friendly and caring environment and we take great pride in the level of individual support we give to our students.

As a relatively small post-16 provider, we deliver excellent pastoral care centred on the needs of all our students. Employers and Higher Education Institutions demand a wide range of skills including teamwork, organisation, communication and leadership.

The King’s Sixth Form prepares all students for the challenges associated with university, apprenticeships, work and further training. We welcome all students who are determined to work hard and succeed and we look forward to working closely with you over the next 2 years.

Year 12 Form Tutor - Mrs Wilson

Students at The King’s definitely benefit from the robust pastoral care we offer. As a form tutor, it is my job to ensure students make a smooth transition into Sixth Form as well as ensuring they receive timely and bespoke guidance as they apply to university, apprenticeships or employment.

I am committed to ensuring that all students leave my form with a range of skills and experiences to equip them for the next stage of their life. To this end, I strongly encourage each and every one of them to take advantage of the range of leadership and enrichment opportunities available to them at The King’s.

Y13 Form Tutor - Miss Kaminskas

My role as a Year 13 form tutor is important, as it has allowed me to develop an exciting CAIEG programme for Sixth Form students through which I can personally deliver form time, assemblies, whole year group activities, workshops, college and university visits and targeted cohort sessions. Events such as work experience and mock interviews add further enrichment and breadth to enable our students to make informed choices about their future. I am committed to providing students with up-to-date and impartial information, advice and guidance on careers, education, training and employment.

It gives me such pleasure knowing the advice and guidance I have given to students has enabled them to carve out a career path, which is right for them.

Sixth Form Support Assistant and Student Mentor - Miss Degg

As a fairly new addition to The King’s Sixth Form Team, I play a pivotal role in the day to day runnings of the Key Stage; supporting both staff and students alike.  Often, I work behind the scene,  supporting the team by helping them to deliver the best higher education experience and pastoral support that we can. This support manifests itself in the form of:

  • mentoring,

  • coordinating and arranging educational trips,

  • implementing and monitoring enrichment activities,

  • monitoring attendance and providing support,

  • raising our social media profile

  • general administrative support

Throughout the year, I provide a mentoring programme that helps to guide our students in getting the most out of their Sixth Form life, achieving the grades that they are capable of and encouraging them to take advantage of all the opportunities that we provide to learn new skills and broaden their horizons.
