Church of England – Flourishing Together National Conference 2023

On 27th January nine students from The King's Church of England Academy were invited by the Three Spires Trust to attend an annual conference in London, travelling by coach with a group from St Peter's Church of England Academy in Wolverhampton.  The conference was run by the Foundation for Educational Leadership of the Church of England and included speeches, music and dance in the Union Chapel in Islington, followed by workshops in the local St Mary Magdalene Academy.

The workshops looked at the love God has for us, and our response in looking after the planet. Activities included pairing up with other participants to consider what 'love' is, writing ideas on a series of white boxes and a cardboard igloo and, after lunch, drawing a design for a 'dream school' incorporating environmentally-friendly features.

The coach carrying the group eventually arrived back in Kidsgrove just before 9pm - a long and worthwhile day which made memories for a lifetime for those who attended.
