On Tuesday the 12th of June, 40 students from The King's went off to compete in the Northwood Junior athletics, competing against 8 other schools across the district in 28 degrees. Safe to say they all listened in their sun safe lessons and returned to school unscathed by the sun. Despite the heat, our students were determined to run the 1500m and the 800m events and every single student finished the race, showing real strength both physically and psychologically. A specially mention to Corey B who ran a fantastic race, maintaining a strong pace throughout the race and just missing out on medal position and coming in 4th. Chris F put in an amazing performance even though he sustained an injury during the race he carried on and we are very proud of him. 

Medal winners for the day, for the Kings were Max B, James S, Dayangku N and a special mention to Nnenna A for winning a Gold medal in Shot Putt. All these athletes have now qualified to represent the Newcastle District in the Staffordshire County Athletics Championships and we will be sure to let you know how they did.
