KS2
Primary events
This half term, Mrs Turner and our Year 7 Financial Literacy Ambassadors, George and Evie, have visited a number of primary schools to educate pupils on the importance of financial literacy.
At both St Thomas’ Primary Academy and Hanely St Luke's, George and Evie helped to support with the delivery of a problem-solving financial literacy session. They encouraged students to take a systematic approach to their answers, drawing on their prior mathematical knowledge of basic numeracy in order to solve the real-life problems.
Both students represented our school incredibly well and demonstrated excellent leadership skills! For their fantastic effort they have earned themselves the Pride of The King’s Reward with 200 points, well done George and Evie!

KS2 transition
As part of their transition, Y6 students took part in a financial literacy task which encouraged students to use all of the skills and knowledge they have acquired in KS2 in order to furnish a bedroom. Students were tasked with planning the refurbishment of the bedroom using a set criteria given, using area, volume, costing and budgeting together with floor and wall coverings. Students only had £750 to spend so they really were, spending on a budget!
