Work experience
During their time at The King's, we encourage all sixth form students to participate and volunteer in work experience both within and outside of school. Unlike most schools, we encourage students to engage with work experience throughout the entire academic year rather than just one week at the end of summer.
The work experience placements all link closely to the KS5 courses which means students really do, learn on the job.
Due to the strong links we have in the community with local businesses and schools, we are able to provide students with meaningful and purposeful experience which will support them in the next phase of their career.
From working with the local nursery, primary schools and nursing homes to supporting the site manager or teachers here at The King's, all students have the opportunity to experience what life in the world of work looks like.
"The experience I have had at St Thomas' primary school is phenomenal. The Y2 teacher and pupils have made feel so welcome and attending every Friday has has really affirmed my decision that teaching is for me. My application to Chester university has recently been successful and I'm so excited to turn my dream into a reality".
